This whole birth certificate/Obama’s not a natural born citizen thing has got me thinking, and I’ve decided…
… the from now on, it should be mandatory that all Presidential candidates reveal their birth certificates to the whole world in the most pubic way possible before they even be allowed to start campaigning. GOP and Dems alike, regardless of gender or race. Everyone, from now on, SHOW YOUR PROOF OF BIRTH.

Why yes, it does sound silly, doesn’t it? A little over the top? How about a lot over the top and more ridiculous than silly?
Naturally, I don’t really think this is necessary. I assume that both parties, the GOP and the Dems, vet their presidential hopefuls carefully before they even consider giving them the nod. I assume. I don’t know for sure, but I’m pretty sure. I mean, it’s in the Constitution:
No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States. (Article II, Section I)
So, yes, I do assume that before the Democrats gave Barack Obama their backing for President, even as a hopeful, they’d checked to make sure sure he was legal. I also assume that the Republicans did the same for Senator McCain and Ms. Palin. It seems like a simple thing, considering how integral being a natural born citizen is becoming president.
I also realize that assuming anything in this day and age is dangerous, but come on, people! The only reason this became an issue at all is because Obama stood a chance at winning the election (which he did!) and the only reason it’s an issue still, is because the birthers and the Tea Party and idiots like Don Trump want to see him either removed from office or barred from running in 2012.
It really is insane. With all that’s going on in the nation and around the world right now, why are we still harping about something that was never anything more than false accusations, rumors and hear-say?
